ENTITLEMENTS/THROUGH THE BOTTOM OF THE GLASS

Greeting Hairballers,

I've been grinding on this entitlement thing.  I mean, if you paid in why should you not be entitled?  Fear not, I'll keep it brief.

Entitlements, ah the very word sends chills up your spine and raises the hairs on your arms.  It’s become a pejorative like drug addict or hooker.  Interesting how things can be changed around and before you know it, everyone believes what they’re told. It’s like a used car lot with models to meet your needs, if not your desires.

Basic Model: For the 47%, the unemployed, those on welfare assistance, food stamps (where they make you pee in a cup for crying out loud) and/or Medicaid, plus seniors, old coots and over-the-hillers and the disabled.

Cadillac Model: For the CEOs, members of Congress and Big Deal Heads of the Herd

Here’s a hairball ditty for just one (more to come in the new year).  A special nod to the amazing Paul Craft, who wrote the song that was my inspiration, Through the Bottom of the Glass.

A Toast to You©

         FMHorner

we’re not misbehaving
just hungry and free
a rather grim future
is all that we see

we ask you for food stamps
there’s no other way
our wages are low
we’re not buying frappe

you may think we’re druggies
or barely low trash
only asking for help here
we don’t have a stash

so give us the cup
and we’ll have a pee
a toast to you, governor,
it’s your face we’ll see

Through the Bottom of the Glass

'til next week, hairballs to all,

f
