Ode to laugh

the embers glow

as we cross the threshold into immortality,

to laugh, the immortals say,

keeps our soul fresh,

and the glow we emit

entitles us to one free latte at Starbucks.  

A Portion of History

As we catch the end of the day,

our energy drips away, and,

offers us moments of reflection,

if you save them,

at life's end,

you will own a portion of history
